“Love is patient, love is kind…”
1 Corinthians 13:4–7

Matrimony is a beautiful covenant of love between a baptized man and a baptized woman—a union Christ has raised to the dignity of a sacrament. In this sacred bond, the Holy Spirit seals the couple’s freely given “yes,” strengthening them to live out their commitment with faith, generosity, and joy.

At the heart of the sacrament is the exchange of consent: a mutual giving and receiving of one another, offered in love and trust, to form a lifelong partnership. This bond is a gift from God, one that brings grace, blessing, and strength throughout the couple’s married life. Each spouse brings unique gifts to their marriage—gifts that enrich their family, the Church, and the wider community. For this reason, Matrimony is known as a Sacrament at the Service of Communion.

Preparing for Your Wedding

The parish family joyfully congratulates you on your engagement. We are honored to accompany you as you prepare for this sacred and joyful moment in your lives.

We encourage you to reach out at least seven months before your desired wedding date so we can walk with you through the preparation process. We kindly ask that you wait to finalize reception plans until after this initial meeting.

We look forward to supporting you as you prepare to celebrate the sacrament of Matrimony and begin your life together in Christ.

Couples discerning marriage are invited to contact the Parish Office at 631-744-2800 to schedule an initial conversation with a member of the clergy.
