“Let the children come to me... for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Mark 10:14

Catechists are parish volunteers who share their love of God and help guide our children in faith. Classes are held in the Parish Center, with small groups of about 10–12 children. Because our program continues to grow, we are always grateful for new catechists who feel called to serve.

Support for Catechists

We provide strong support throughout the year so you never feel alone in this ministry.

  • Two catechist meetings are held annually to review upcoming lessons and share parish updates.
  • At the September meeting, catechists receive class lists and teaching guides. We ask catechists to contact the families in their group to share the start date, classroom number, and any needed directions.
  • The Director of Faith Formation provides calendars, lesson plans, and student materials to make teaching simple and enjoyable.
  • New Catechist Orientation
    • If you are new to catechesis, we offer a special introductory meeting in September. This session provides extra guidance, resources, and encouragement so you feel confident and prepared before classes begin.
  • End-of-Year Gathering
    • All catechists are invited to an end-of-year evaluation meeting. This is a chance to reflect together on what worked well, what might be improved, and how we can continue strengthening our program. Your feedback is truly valued and helps shape the year ahead.
